Summary of the experiences and competences of Bo
I have been working on interfacial problems within materials, microbiology and environment since the start of my Ph.D. in 1995. It has been a very dynamic and interesting time taking me through all kinds of corrosion failures, biofouling problems, water quality decay, material selection and product design – and it still is. I am currently with Grundfos, the worlds largest (in number of units sold) supplier of pumps – but also a significant player in water treatment and water supply all over the world. The combination of the sophisticated and detailed structure of a pump, the fluid it is designed to move, and all thinkable problems arising from reality hardly never matching expectations, still keeps me and my colleagues busy every day.

My colleagues and I are dealing with corrosion, fouling and MIC on many different scales and in many different situations, from pitting corrosion in large wastewater pumps to corrosion and scaling in highly efficient small circulators.
