Noelia is a member within the Euro-MIC COST framework. This project is funded by the European Union and enables scientists to bridge knowledge and capabilities across countries and disciplines.

Summary of the experiences and competences of Noelia

Noelia Losada Garcia is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the BioSystems & Integrative Sciences Institute (BioISI), in Bioactive and Multifunctional Materials laboratory (Lisbon, Portugal). She has gained extensive experience in research and development (R&D) over the last seven years thanks to her bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Malaga (01/10/2017), a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering (22 /03/2019) by the Autonomous University of Madrid and Rey Juan Carlos University and subsequent successful doctoral thesis in Applied Chemistry by the Autonomous University of Madrid and the Institute of Catalysis and Petroleochemistry of the CSIC, for which she received the highest qualification ‘Summa Cum Laude’(01/25/2022). She disseminated and transferred her knowledge through 24+ peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and 2 (inter)national patents. Noelia is also mentoring students in different levels. In her professional career, as a team member, has been actively involved in competitive international and national R&D projects, and with industrial collaboration (e.g., SAMSUNG Electronic). Recently, She have been awarded the Talent and Technology Award 2023. All of these R&D activities and achievements were related to the fields of nanomaterials, environmental remediation and health sciences.
Since 2023, She works in the following research topics:
– Functional agents’ development (e.g., nano-catalysts, bioactive natural/synthetic compounds).
– Surface functionalisation methodologies and immobilisation in materials.
– Design of (multi)functional agents against waterborne biofouling and subsequent effects, such as MIC, mainly applied in the marine and water utility management sectors.
Dr Losada is the leader of YR&I Recruitment on EUROMIC Cost Action, a member of scientific committee in TwinPrebioEnz international conference for Young researchers 2023 and member of Young EFC (European Federation of Corrosion).
