Summary of the experiences and competences of Matthew

I am an experienced Global Subject Matter Expert for Production Chemistry, Microbiology and Facility Integrity. I have worked in the industry for over 20 years and form an Industry recognized Technical Authority & Principal Consultant with a demonstrated history of working in the global oil and gas industry delivering value add, safety leadership and technical competency to customers projects and oil and gas field developments.

Responsible for leading multiple global customer projects relating to integrated Production Chemistry services and Industrial Microbiology using advanced DNA meta-genomics, Reservoir Souring and Corrosion Forensics incorporating SGS MiRAS (Microbial Risk Assessment) technology, analytical programmes and consultancy services.

Strong solution driven individual with experience in Industrial Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Corrosion Forensics, Production Chemistry, Water Treatment, Biocide development and Reservoir Souring with hands-on field application experience developed across many regions and global customer locations.

I am currently focused on new service developments and continued focus on green hydrogen cyclic storage in the subsurface, Carbon Capture and Underground Storage (CCUS), Geothermal, sustainable Biofuels, Biogas and a refreshed drive to support the wider remit of the renewable energy sectors.

My involvement in Euro-MIC is focused on utilisng my extensive field experience to education and provide competent technical influences to industry and academia (bridge the gap) to gain an improved control and mitigation of MIC. I am particularity interested in sensor applications for MIC surveillance in the marine, water treatment and oil /gas sectors and how we can innovate new technologies that add asset value.
