Herman is a member within the Euro-MIC COST framework. This project is funded by the European Union and enables scientists to bridge knowledge and capabilities across countries and disciplines.
Summary of the experiences and competences of Herman
I work for an important part of my time for MontiPower. A company that focuses on surface pre-treatment. This is the step before a coating can be applied. We have a portfolio of techniques with which we can carry out pre-treatment.
I also work for Corronation. Within Corronation, we have five disciplines that focus on corrosion prevention. A relevant step in this is testing. We have therefore developed a test kit that allows you to perform MIC testing on site using the well-known qPCR method. The difference with existing methods, is that this kit can be performed on site, allowing you to generate results within a few hours.
In addition, from Corrosion Alliance, we are working with a group of companies to share applied knowledge. Background information and knowledge on how to apply certain corrosion prevention techniques.

As many others, I am happy to help you with issues about MIC monitoring and damage investigation. In many cases, it is not so easy to get a good and representative sample form an asset. With our team within Corronation we have both certifications (Safety, SO2, H2S, etc.) and the experience to properly execute a site sampling campaign. Especially, using the combination of traditional metallurgical and Molecular tools.
This can also be related to ligitation processes. Through Corrosion Alliance, we also have a network amongst applicators that could be reached through our network. We more than 10 industrial partners that can be of support.
Another element that I could bring in, is if you need support to start or grow a technical start-up. I have experiences how to do this and organize financially.
