About MICBUSTERS

MICBUSTERS is a technology and services provider focused on the microbiology that drives Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion (MIC). We make advanced molecular measurements practical on site, so operators can detect, quantify, and trend MIC-relevant microorganisms and act on evidence rather than assumptions.

Role in Euro-MIC

MICBUSTERS contributes to Euro-MIC by helping translate molecular tools into routine practice and by supporting community training.

  • WG2 – Diagnostic technology development: Field-deployable qPCR workflows and assay panels for MIC-relevant targets.
  • WG3 – Innovative monitoring technologies: Sample-to-answer protocols, QC and inhibition controls for real-world matrices.
  • WG5 – Achieving standardization: Harmonized SOPs, QA/QC, and data reporting suitable for trending and audits.

Training: MICBUSTERS supports and serves as local organizer for the Euro-MIC Industry Course in Groningen, a hands-on program covering sampling, on-site qPCR, interpretation, and decision-making.
